The Luxury Beauty Market finds the Daily Deal

Ah, a massage and facial at a high end spa.   New age music and the aroma of lavender fill the air.  The chic French vibe makes the New York streets seem far away.    But the best is yet to come.

What could make this better?  Try spending 50% less on it than person sitting next to you.  Nothing like a good deal to make me feel good.   And due to the recent boom in online deals, you can easily get on board.  The discount deals  are now arriving in your Inbox like the ubiquitous email newsletter of yesteryear.    But this is better.    I no longer have to wait for a deal to show up, or search my Inbox trying to remember the name of that hip new salon.    Just go to lifebooker.com and check out the loot!

Now this is a discount website I can really use—price breaks on spa services.    A niche marketplace for ‘remnant’ inventory.    They sell you hard to fill time slots or less popular products at a steep discount.  It’s a win-win.  The salon gets some cash in the door and you part with much less of your hard earned buck.  And you get to try out new places without breaking the bank.

Living Social, Groupon, and a few others have totally mastered this marketplace.  The art of the daily deal.   Bars, dry cleaning, salons, restaurants, you name it.  Local business is hot again.  And the investors of flocking to daily deal sites.

Hey, even my 70+ year old, totally non-techie mother is now doing these things.  Now that’s market saturation.
